- OGA Junior Majors include Open Divisions in addition to the assigned age divisions. The open divisions are available for expeirenced junior players and provide the opportunity to compete at a high level with longer course yardages.
- Players competing in the open divisions are eligible to earn points for team events and AJGA stars depending on their tournament finish.
- Course yardages will be approximately 5,900-6,100 yards for girls and 6,600-6,900 for boys.
- Girls should average 85 or less on a regulation course of approximately 5,900 yards or longer. Boys should average 80 or less on a regulation course of approximately 6,600 yards.
- Boys Open eligibility: ages 14-18 with a handicap index of 7.0 or less at registration deadline.
- Girls Open eligibility: ages 12-18 with a handicap index of 14.0 or less at registration deadline.
While the OGA believes it to be the player’s choice to compete within such divisions, it is also our responsibility to restrict players from future enrollment within that division if they do not meet these certain criteria:
- Any Open division player that scores over 100, will be required to compete within their age division in the following Major.
- Girls scoring 95 or above in two separate rounds, will be required to compete in her age division in the following Major. (Ex: Centennial 95-87 Southern Oregon 79-95)
- Boys scoring 90 or above in two separate rounds, will be required to compete in his age division in the following Major. (Ex: Centennial 91-90)
