What is Maximum Hole Score?

Maximum Hole Score or Net Double Bogey

For score posting purposes only, the Maximum Hole Score will be a net double bogey. This is a Rule of Handicapping, and one of the three ways to adjust a hole scoe. The Net Double Bogey calculation is double bogey (par +2), plus any handicap strokes (‘pops’) the golfer is entitled to on that hole based upon the ranking of the stroke holes (or SIA - Stroke Index Allocation). For example, if you have a 25 Course Handicap, the max hole score will be a four over par on the 7 more difficult holes and 3 over par for the remaining 11 holes.

If you post via hole-by-hole on the GHIN app or GHIN.com, enter your gross score and the system will automatically adjust your score down to your Net Double Bogey maximum.
