What are examples of scores that are not acceptable for handicap purposes?

How do I know if my score should be posted or not?

It's important to note that most all scores must be posted to your Handicap Index; there are very few that are not acceptable. Examples of unacceptable scores are - those made while being coached; while using non-conforming equipment; when the number or type of clubs to be used is restricted (ie., an irons-only tournament); when the score cannot be verified by another person (ie, you're playing solo); not playing the required number of holes (must play at least 7 for a 9-hole score and 14 for an 18-hole score); when the player does not play their own ball, as in a scramble event.
