Why can’t I post my score in winter?

Winter score posting

Oregon Golf Association, with a posting season of March 1-November 30, joins more than half of the US Allied Golf Associations (AGAs) with an Inactive Season. Posting scores relies on a golf course maintaining length under normal mid-season conditions. All of the Pacific Northwest deals with weather that changes the course conditions. With course conditions changing drastically in the winter, if we deemed that scores were acceptable for handicap purposes, the Handicap Index of players could be unfairly distorted.

The dates are association wide. There is no way we could go course by course to make a daily assessment of course conditions and the acceptability of scores.

GHIN lists the notation as follows: "Date played is outside of the active score posting season for this golf course."

Please know that if you are lucky enough to go someplace warm and sunny, those scores are acceptable to post to your scoring record.
